Students and educators from around Pima County attend this annual event which is supported by the City of Tucson, Pima County, the University of Arizona, and Pima Community College. This Symposium is designed to introduce students to high tech industries as career options for their future, and since its inception has reached over 6,500 students. The Key to Employment for the 21st Century Symposium is a Signature Event of the AZ Sci-Tech Festival.

FreeFall will have a table and looks forward to connecting with Tucson’s high school students.

Q  8:30-9:15 am Experience an inspiring opening session featuring Jonathan Rothschild, Mayor, City of Tucson; Richard Elias, Chairman, Pima County Board of Supervisors; Dustin Williams, Pima County Superintendent Of Schools, and a panel of industry and education innovators
Q  9:00-11:45 am Get immersed in the action-packed STEAM Career Expo with about 80 business, education and community organizations, and collect valuable industry and career resource material
Q  9:00-11:45 am Be captivated by the dynamic industry and career pathway workshops
Q  12:00-2:00 pm Have lunch on the UA mall and see the showcase of rockets, autonomous vehicles, robots, and more

Key2e provides Southern Arizona high school students the opportunity to:

  • Meet college students, educators, engineers, University researchers, and other area professionals working at the cutting edge of science, technology and industry. They will demonstrate some of the latest and greatest technologies and engage the students in exploring some of the hottest and high-paying technology and 21st Century careers in our featured 21st Century industries
  • Discover how they can be a part of the next mission to Mars, create new energy sources, engineer tiny nano machines to fight diseases, design the next generation of the Internet and video games, develop new technologies to protect the environment, design and build our community, work to prevent and treat disease, and more.
  • Learn about the course of study, skills, and educational requirements that will prepare them for college and science, technology and 21st Century careers
  • Connect with colleges, trade schools and community organizations that provide opportunities for them to further their education and training
